As I sat and reflected about the title of my last blog, I thought, "Yeah Mel, I guess that is fitting!" Something new has really been the theme of my life for about a year now. Moving back to Columbia, teaching at a NEW school, having a NEW baby, learning about and loving that NEW baby, and all the joys that come along with having something new. So I guess it really is fitting . . . . As I continue along this journey called life, we come in to so many things that are NEW. I hope I can be open and receptive to these new things. Especially those that may be benefical to me and my son.
Tomorrow we are doing something new again -- heading to the beach. Now the beach part is definately not new for me, but new for Kae. It will be fun to see him out on the beach. I am looking forward to seeing him out on the beach and in the pool. I am looking forward to seeing the ocean myself. Maybe I will be able to sneak out to the beach for a few minutes for a little time to myself and a little time the BIG MAN UPSTAIRS! I so desperately need some time with him alone. So let's hope this lil vaca' will give me that.
Well Something New, I think that is just right... Not too cold, not too hot (yeah, i took it back to a kid's story), but something new is just right!
So Lord, here I am -- ready for all the things you have in store for me that is SOMETHING NEW!

Something New
Well for months now, I have read poeple's blogs just to keep up with them. So yesterday I decided, "What the hell, Mel...Just do it." So What I am doing --- creating my own. I hope to update often, but Lord only knows if Kaedyn will let me. (He likes to 'ride the laptop screen down' -- in other words, let's lay on top of it and push it down!)
But I think I will use this blog for the same purpose of others - to keep my friends and family informed, to have somewhere to vent, and who else knows. I welcome comments -- I am usually pretty good with constructive critism. However, haterz are not welcome. I have no time for foolish haterz and those that have nothing else better to do with their life than tell me what I should or should not be doing with mine... So, if you are a hater or have ill intentions, "Thank you for visiting my blog, Keep it movin'!"
As you can see I am a straight up kinda girl. I keep it real and tell ya like it is. Most poeple have not seen me in rare form simply because I try not to let that side come out very often, however it slips out sometime.... But I hope to keep it real here on this blog.
Life Nowadays
Well since school has been out for summer it's been kinda, um what's the word, BORING. Kaedyn still goes to the sitter the majority of the week. Yeah, call me a terrible MAMA if you want, but he absolutely loves being around the other kids. I spend most of my time doing things that I like to do (sleep, procrasinating, reading, watching tv, and sleep [i said that already, didn't i?]) But I am somewhat looking forward to going back to school. Anxious to get back and meet the students and see how this new schedule will work, then we can have another vacation. But we will see...
This weekend will be full of birthday parties and baseball games. Kaedyn has been invited to 2 birthday parties this weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and then of course his dad has 2 baseball games. I don't know if we will make it Saturday to the game, but Sunday's attendance is a must. The biggest rival yet.... So I'm looking forward to that.
Will attempt church again this Sunday. Last Sunday, Kaedyn and I got ready for church, drove to church, got out the car, and ATTEMPTED to cross a busy highway to get to the church and my she broke. Nice black, leather, Nine West wedges broke. What the in world? So back to the car I limp, only to find ugh, NO SPARE SHOES! So back in the car seat Kaedyn goes and back home. So we will attempt again this Sunday.
Well I think it's time for me to end my Something New post to go do something that is definately not new -- LAUNDRY! But for me this blog is 'something new', along with the so many other things that are new in my life - motherhood, church, kid parties, any the list goes on....
So look for the next blog soon... Who knows it maybe Something Else New!
